on the 1st october i shot a rung canada and reported it to the bto i allways do this when i get a rung bird, i got the letter through today saying it was rung in cannon hill park birmingham on the 17th of june 2004 and its a greater canada goosethe age of it says age: i year + (4) not quite sure what it means, it also give you the ringers name. A few years ago i got a pink with a ring on and sent it off and found out it a was a female 3 years old and ringed some were but cant rember were lol.

has any one else come across any other rung birds i dont mean the basc ones you get on ducks and the racing pigeon ones even though im loosing that compatition with me mate hes got more on his keyring than me

oh and the goose was 147 km from were it was ring to were i reported it

Never had the pleasure of bagging a ringed one before, mind you over here if the geese land on town parks they get plucked and eaten whilst still swimming around :shock:

Used to get loads of racers when i was culling in chemical works, used to send the rings back to the pigeon organsiation.

Think i am going to have a look at the ducks this week whilst i'm on my hols
