i took the kids for a hunt at easter, had a great time and got 14 pigs. we also shot a heap of goats as well as some roos and emus for dog food.......

14 is not to bad, most i ever got was 68 in 2 days . most are not kept and some are used for dog food. we only kept one fat sow for eating. the goats are a better feed Icon_wink_smiley75

most the pigs you wouldnt eat because they are not that suitable for human consumption , these are bush pigs and they do it a bit hard. pigs living off crops are better for eating . it is illegal to sell them for meat unless you are accredited and they go to a processor and are inspected . and unless you had a portable cool room they would spoil from the heat and flys within hours. they are classed as a major pest here and its illegal for a property owner not to cull them. i do keep the odd good one for eating and try to use some for dog food. i think its a bit differant over here with the meat situation in shops, its plentiful and not that expensive and 99.999% of people would not touch wild pork.

When the dogs are holding the pig is dispatch with a knife...

If your useing bailers they can be dispatched with a rifle..
