how did everyone go about getting land to shoot on..??? any tips..on the best way to go about it?? :)

nock on the farmers door and ask them, the best time of year is when they are siloing they seem to come out of hiding then or if you sea a lot of pigeons going in to a field go and ask then same for rabbits and foxes i seem to be getting famres asking me to go sort them out now

Usually a bottle of scotch will help the process, but you got to get out there and knock on a few doors.

Or another way is to get well in with a Gamekeeper, help him out not just during the shooting season, getting the pens prepared, feeding up etc then the pest control may well follow again to help him out as keepers are busy guys and can't spend the day sat out in a field decoying all the time, or rabbiting.

Thats how i first got 3000 acres to shoot on when i 1st moved down to Lincs, also got wildfowling on the Humber foreshore and as much roost shooting as i wanted, and of course the beaters day game shoots.

Another angle to go for, also the keeper will know most of the land owners in the area and could recommend you :D
