Right chaps with the end of the season only 2 weeks away or so, my mind has now moved to Pigeons and i will be taking the jeep into the strips tomorrow and flattening the maize for some good decoy action next weekend and of course the roost shooting
How are the pigeons looking around your parts has the flock up started? we do seem quiet at the moment, but loads of crows and rooks around. :D |

I have started roost shooting on my syndicate ground, but only with the air rifle to bag a few for the pot.
Around here the woodies are still concentrating on the nuts/mast and berries in the trees, hardly had any frosts to move them out onto the rape.
I am really looking forward to getting into the woods for roosting once the pheasant season is over.

Dont forget the unofficial "national pigeon shoot" day in Feb. |

Oh yes the 1st Saturday in Feb is my favourite day of the year, to hear all the woods banging is brilliant and they anticipation of the birds crashing into the wood is great |

down in hampshire --plenty of pigeons flighting throughout the day when its been windy but no large grey flocks hitting the rape etc-i think its been too mild for the pigeons to flock together in numbers -but the weather man says temparatures are set to drop over the next few weeks- it may make the difference fingers crossed |
