hi all im getting a pair of ferrets at the weekend im going to be housing them in a shed with mesh where the window was ive been looking for some every where but the stuff that i have seen seems to be a bit thin could any body recomend a good place to get some wire from and other ferret housing equipment

hi mate welcome to the site if you got any building work going on round near you have a search round for the mesh fenching they use to surround site i think they call it harris fencing just get a panel of that and cut it down to size using wire snips or anlgle grinder if not just get yourself some chicken wire  |

would they be able to get through the harris fencing
and wouldnt they bite through chicken wire |

ahh i thought you wanted it as just a window guard, in that case get the strongest chicken wire you can get |

yes they would be able to get to the window
i carnt find any 1" x 1" but can get some 2" x 2"
would that be ok if not would it be ok if i put chicken wire over the mesh

you just need some heavy duty chicken wire i think its comes in different strenghts i got a load behind my shed you could have shame you dont live closer |

you can get 1/2"x1/2" from B&Q they sell it by the piece or roll ,you can get a piece to fit your window space |
