Given that a goose guide will cost you from 80 quid upwards in the NE what do people think about engaging the services of a guide rather than DIY

To be honest Scott, if i was going to travel all that way to shoot for a couple of flights i think i would use one as it is a long way to travel and then go out blind and take pot luck, at least a guide should have local knowledge.
Is the foreshore etc free or leased out?

It is on the list of things to do, not this year but maybe next...........

The foreshore up to the MHWS is public by law and can be shot over (non lead only)

See your point in paying just seems a shed load of cash to me, no guarantee that you will get a shot, still have to pay and 80 quid is the bottom end of the market

:( :( :(

Cheers

Could we always employ your services Scott? and make payment by single malt

it depends on were your going and the type of shooting your going to be done, im not keen on going out with guides telling you when to shoot, ive been upto scotland with me mate and just looked were the geese were coming off and did it that way, i no people who go upto aberdeen shooting and just go and ask farmers if they can shoot they usually let them, i no a goose guide who takes ppl up all over scotland if i was to go with one it would probably be him but he charges too much but its well worth it, get a bit of rough shooting and i think even stalking aswell
