aint posted a hunting report on here this year so thought i woukd. since saturdays hunt, ive been dying with a chest infection, off work and hadnt takin rolf out since. but today was a nice sunny day, and no wind, im sick of trisha and jermemy kyle show, so decided to head out in the afternoon if the chest could hack it, but go to a nice easy to walk farm lol. first set we done was empty, moved on to another, again it was empty. left that field and headed to a fencline on the far side. ferret down, rabbit up, but back down next hole. then another bolted rolf fly down the field after it, it crossed under teh fench, he rose up and over, but by the time he was over, it had made it to another hole. walked back up to set and continued to wait, another bolted, this time bolting up the field, rolf went in and got a good head hold. rabbit number 13 of the season, dun dun dunnn:roll: anyway i dont beleive in that crap, so took let him have a quick pluck at it and hunted on. next set we done a rabbit bolted about 20 yards over the field, with rolf just clipping it as it got to the hole. a few morw minutes, but nothing, the ferret had found that rabbit and we would just have to dig to it. as usual as we were about to break through, ferret comes out with blood around his face. next set we had another few flights, most were only small flights as it was a large set and they seemed to just go from hole to hole, but one was a good 100 yards, with rolf nailing it, but not holding it, only for it to make it down a hole about 5 feet from where it kicked him off. next set , ferret down, stood back, and within a few minutes rabbit out and heading down the fenchline, rolf headed in after it into a bish were a few holes were. i expected to find him sitting looking down a hole, but he had managed to catch the rabbit just as it was getting down the hole, i pulled him and the rabbit out of the bush, and decided to feed him up on it. was very good day afterall, and didnt seen one young one. dont think ill be out again till weekend tho, kinda took it outa me :(
